Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Slide, a mobile application operated by Rohan Bindu (sole proprietor, DBA Slide) in California, United States (“Slide,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using Slide, you agree to these Terms and to our Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Slide.

Slide helps people split expenses, track shared balances, and share moments and photos tied to the things they do together. Slide facilitates payments between users so that one person can reimburse another for a shared expense.

Free rails.When you choose Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Apple Cash, Slide simply opens that app with the amount and note filled in. Slide does not move that money. Those payments happen entirely inside the third-party app and are governed by that provider's own terms.

Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. When you pay by card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay, payment processing is provided by Stripe. Your card is charged through Stripe, and the person you are paying receives the funds into a Stripe Connect account they set up and onboard to, subject to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement. For these card checkouts, Slide's platform account acts as the merchant of record. Slide is a reimbursement tool: card payments are meant to settle real, receipt-anchored expenses between people, not to sell goods or services. The card rail accepts eligible credit cards only.

Card fee. Card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments carry processing costs, so a fee may be added to a card payment to cover them. Any fee is shown to you before you confirm, so you always see the total before you pay. If you would rather not pay a fee, the free rails above carry no Slide fee. We may change how card fees are calculated over time; whatever the fee is when you pay, it is disclosed to you first.

Refunds and disputes. A payment on Slide is between you and the person you are paying, to settle a shared expense. If you believe a card payment was wrong (for example a duplicate charge, an amount you did not authorize, or an expense you did not owe), contact us at ro@useslideapp.com so we can help sort it out with the recipient. Because these are reimbursements between people, a refund is usually arranged with the person you paid. You also have the right to dispute a card charge with your card issuer; that dispute is handled on Stripe's rails and we cooperate with the process. Payments made through the free rails are handled entirely by those apps, and any refund or dispute for them follows that provider's process, not Slide's.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Slide. Sending and receiving payments through Slide relies on Stripe, which requires account holders to be 18 or older, so an 18+ minimum applies to everyone who uses the app. Slide is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account.

You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to not impersonate anyone. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Slide app for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. If you downloaded Slide from the Apple App Store or Google Play, your use is also subject to that store's terms; Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the service.

You keep ownership of the photos, captions, and other content you post (“Your Content”). You grant Slide a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and process Your Content, sublicensable only to the service providers we use to run Slide (for example hosting and content screening), and only to operate, secure, and improve the service (for example, to show your moments to the people you share them with, and to screen content for safety). We do not use Your Content to train AI models, and we do not permit our service providers to do so.

This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except that (a) content you shared into other people's expenses or moments may remain visible to them as part of their history, and (b) we may retain copies for a limited time in backups or where the law requires preservation.

You are responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the right to post it and that it does not violate these Terms, our Acceptable Use Policy, or the law.

We respect intellectual property rights and expect the same from users. If you believe content on Slide infringes your copyright, email ro@useslideapp.com with (a) the work you believe is infringed, (b) a link to or description of the infringing content, (c) your contact information, (d) a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized, and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you are the rights holder or authorized to act for them. We remove infringing content and terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

Slide has zero tolerance for objectionable content and for abusive behavior toward other users. You agree not to post content or engage in conduct prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms. This includes, without limitation, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual content, violence, hate speech, harassment, and illegal content.

We screen uploaded images for prohibited content, provide in-app tools to report and block users, review reports promptly, and remove content that violates these rules. We report apparent child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and cooperate with law enforcement, and we preserve related content as required by law.

We may suspend or permanently terminate your account, remove content, and restrict your access to Slide at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, or to protect Slide, our users, or the public. Serious violations, including any involving the safety of children, result in immediate termination.

You may stop using Slide and delete your account at any time by emailing ro@useslideapp.com.

Slide is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that balances and calculations will be free of errors. Slide is a record-keeping, coordination, and reimbursement tool. Slide is not a bank and does not hold your funds. Slide does not itself process card payments; card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay payments are processed by Stripe.

Some features use artificial intelligence, for example reading a receipt photo into items and prices or interpreting a spoken request. AI output can be wrong. Review parsed amounts, items, and splits before you rely on them or send a payment request based on them; you are responsible for confirming they are correct.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slide and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud or willful misconduct.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slide and its operator from claims, damages, and expenses arising from Your Content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or the law.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Informal resolution first. Before starting any formal proceeding, you agree to contact us at ro@useslideapp.com and give us 30 days to try to resolve the dispute informally.

Binding arbitration. Any dispute not resolved informally will be resolved by binding, individual arbitration rather than in court, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive relief to protect intellectual property or to stop misuse of the service.

Class-action waiver. Disputes will be handled on an individual basis only. To the extent permitted by law, you and Slide each waive any right to participate in a class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.

Opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of first accepting these Terms by emailing ro@useslideapp.com. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above. For material changes, we'll give you advance notice by email or in-app message before the change takes effect, and material changes apply going forward, not retroactively. Continued use of Slide after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is held unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the rest of the Terms remain in effect. These Terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Slide about the service.

From time to time we may offer referral credits or rewards for inviting new users. Credits and rewards have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash unless we expressly say otherwise. They are personal to your account and are not transferable.

We may change, pause, or end the referral program at any time, and we may cap, limit, or expire credits. We may withhold or revoke any credit or reward we reasonably believe was earned through fraud, abuse, fake or duplicate accounts, self-referrals, automated signups, or any other violation of these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy, and we may suspend or terminate accounts involved in that activity.
